A Delta would not be able to read books in their lifetime, by conditioning a Delta to hate books this eliminates the suffering of longing to read. This chapter is very interesting to me and it brings up the question whether it is better to decide what a person likes on free will and risk suffering and longing or be conditioned to be content in the role of society. This process ensures that the lower caste will not want to read and dislike nature- keeping them content in their environments as full grown adults.
